Blog Post One! Introduction

 Hello! My name is Gianna, and this is my blog for my film opening project. 

The genre I am most interested, and want my film opening to be is psychological thrillers. Throughout my life, I have always loved a good puzzle, and this genre is just that. It takes elements of thrillers, and mysteries and combines them to make a film that has you biting your teeth, and questioning motives. I also love the aspect of unexpected endings. This started with the movie La La Land. Although this is not a thriller in any way, the fundamental have not having a happily ever after in the intended way really spoke to me. It felt more real, and relatable. Another very prominent piece of film that has influenced this ideology is Series of Unfortunate events. This show really entailed that aspect of just never giving what the viewer wants. This keeps the show interesting, and creates a desire to see the ending. 

I have always had a passion for film. From editing music videos on iMovie, to uploading videos of me playing video games onto YouTube. This has really allowed me to have insight on my strengths and weaknesses, and in turn aids me in the creation of the project. I also enjoy watching films such as tv and movies. This interest has allowed me to be exposed to many types of film creation, and I have learned a lot over the years about strategies and the way film makers think. I also own a lot of DVD copies of movies, which allows for extra information like director cuts and behind-the-scenes. This differentiates me because I am able to watch the movie, and have knowledge into how that movie is created. All of these factors combined will allow me to produce a film opening that encompasses the genre, and has viewers interested!
