Media Company Research!!

For media studies, we were required to research information about media production companies, My group was assigned to research Disney and Pixar. Through this research, I learned a lot about these companies and it gave me more insight into the total media landscape. 

Walt Disney Studios

Disney started by creating short films featuring anthropomorphic characters. Walt Disney became interested in developing more full-length entertainment films such as Pinocchio (1940), Dumbo (1941), and Bambi (1942). They now produce longer-length films ranging from animated to live-action. With researching this film production company, I saw how they built their way to create a monopoly over the film industry. They also revolutionized the media landscape by creating streaming sites such as Disney plus. This changed the way that this production company's films got consumed. The availability of all their films on these sites also allows for the mass consumption of new and past films, which helps them gain overall popularity. 

Pixar Animation Studios

Pixar Animation Studios is an American computer animation studio known for its critically and commercially successful computer-animated feature films. This company was created by Walt Disney Studios and is a subset creator of their movies. They focus solely on animation-style-based movies. The purpose have had these subset groups of studios is to ensure that the producers of these shows are well-versed in the production, By having similar movies being created by one company, They are able to focus their time and resources on producing the best movie, and have the experience to do so. These movies changed the landscape because it is one of the leading producers in animated movies, which affects the audience of Disney, The audience of Pixar animation usually falls under the under-14 demographic and is consumed through channels like "Disney channel" and Disney Plus.
