Progress of film opening
My film project is called Obsessed. My film is about two characters, who are both "Obsessed" with each other for different reasons. My screenplay is done, including all the means of production needed for this film.
Locations
One significant factor of my film is the location of the scenes. Although they are basic, the mise-en-scene of the various setting helps reveal information about the characters. There are three locations that are vital for this film's opening. The guy's room, the girl's room, and the public park. Inspirations for them are below.
The guy's room is very clean, which reveals attributes like organization. This helps foreshadow actions like stalking behaviors and calculated moves.
The girl has a messier room. The messier room will have aspects like energy drink bottle, lots of files, and other props that help show more of her character. She has more of a unorganized approach, and the messiness of the set will that the girl is more sloppy and also helps reveal aspects of her background
The last set is a public park. This is the place where the two characters will run into each other. There is not as much mise-en-scene in the setting itself. During this scene, the characters will interact with each other, and these will help tie in the scene and reveal information.
Cinematography
For the cinematography, I am going to use a series of Ariel shots. These will help show the surrounding setting. I will achieve this by using a drone. I will also be using a series of tracking shots to show the routine of the characters, and extenuate certain parts of the surrounding.
Editing
For the editing, I will be switching from the boy and the girl. This will help show the contrast between the two and show how they relate to each other. In the beginning, there will be a shot that shows them both waking up at the same time, which explicitly shows how the two characters are different.
Sound
At the beginning of the scene, there will be a soft, but cheery music. This will be accompanied by narration from the characters. During the park scene, the two characters will meet, and they will exchange dialogue.
Challenges
The most challenging part of this film project is getting the actors. The actors need to be able to evoke the emotions of the character, so the watcher can understand the actions of both characters.
Inspiration
Some of my main inspirations is You, a psychological thriller. I love the style, and how the dialogue is mostly the main character's thoughts. It helps show the reason for his actions and puts the watcher in the perspective of the main character, Joe.
