Elements of my Film Opening!!
I am almost done with my project!! I have planned and used different elements of production to help reveal my story.
mise-en-scene
I dedicated many scenes to help reveal the mise-en-scene of the surrounding area. in the girls part, you can see stuff like the murder mystery board, the empty bottles and messy desk, and the messy room. it helps reveal more about the character showing that she is very messy and occupied with something that takes up her time.
When the mise-en-scene of the girl's room is shown in comparison to the boy, the audience will be able to see how they are different and will help explain more about the characters.
The film throughout will have a getting-ready feel. I will
achieve this by using many tracking shots and over-the-shoulder shots to show
it as more of a point of view. during one scene where the girl is getting ready,
the girl is seen through the mirror rather than directly. this helps show more
of a point of view of the character and helps reveal more through where she
looks at her emotions.
Editing
As I finish up the filming process, I am thinking about exactly what is going to be edited. There is going to be significant transitions and jump shots to help go back and forth between the girl and the boy getting ready. there will also be parts where both of them are shown at the same time on the screen. one on the left and one on the right. this will help show our direct comparison of the two and help reveal factors about them that contribute to the themes of the film opening.
Sound
Sound in the film opening is just as important as the
cinematography, it helps show the inner thoughts of the character while
revealing the themes. there is going to be dialogue, music, and a voiceover. they
will all work in harmony. the music will complement the voiceover, and the
dialogue will reveal more specific actions of the character.
