Personal Reflections

 

What was easy?

One thing that I found fairly easy was the production of the screenplay. the idea came very easy to write the screenplay itself and go into detail with it. another easier part was what kind of cinematography and elements of production I would be utilizing to display the message. I was able to think of different camera angles and the different use of sound in order to convey the message. lastly, another part that was fairly easy was picking the locations. in my film opening, there are three main locations two house locations and one outdoor location. these are relatively easy to find and also easy to manipulate in order to make it match the scene more using aspects like Mise-en-scene.

What was hard?

There were a lot of hard parts to the process as well. One of the hardest ones being the actors. finding actors proved to be the hardest because I needed them to be able to film them in multiple locations. in addition, I did not work with anybody on this project, so it was up to me to utilize the connections I had to find actors. Another part that I did not think was going to be hard but proved to be hard was executing elements of cinematography. I planned on using a drone for many of the scenes, and I did not anticipate aspects like charge and wind to affect the camera. I had to take time and work with what I had in order to produce the scenes I wanted.

What have I learned?

During the film process of this film opening, in the process of other projects like the music video, I was able to get very familiarized with the editing system. this is one of the biggest parts of film because without it you would just have different clips. It helps bring it together and many of the features included in these editing apps accentuate different aspects that help reveal more about the film opening. for example, in another film opening I watched, they were able to put a freeze frame on the title with a person holding a knife in the background. this evokes a sense of mystery and also helps reveal the genre of the film opening. are being the genre a lot more about the characters can be said and deciphered.
