Music Video Promotion!

We have a music video in the brewing! For this music video, we will be promoting the song "Dark Red" by Steve Lacy! Click the image below to hear the song on Youtube.

Planning

Throughout the duration of the planning, I have been working with my team to brainstorm ideas for the music video. The main topic that my team has come up with is the topic of a heartbreak, with a plot twist at the end. We have decided to go with the "high school" appeal, and make it about teenagers. To show this, we plan on using locations like the student parking lot, and the bleachers of the football field. These locations are correlated with high school and the depiction of a "high school heart break". We are taking inspiration from high school movies like High School Musical, Mean Girls, and Grease. The difference is, we would like to put a more modern touch in our music video. 

Promotion

To promote this music video, I have created a Instagram account. I plan on making my first post a promotional flyer with a freeze frame of one of the scenes in the film. It will include the name of the song, and the release dates. I will also include other factors that are relevant to the music video. I have taken inspiration from the flyers below. I want to utilize the color dark red to emphasize the name of the song itself. I will contrast the red color with black to represent the themes in the song as more dark. I would also like to emphasize the words "something bad about happen to me" which are lyrics from the song. These words evoke an ominous feeling, and make the audience more likely to anticipate the release of the music video.  Go follow @darkred_musicvideo on Instagram!
